At least 7 people are being treated by medical emergency personnel following this morning's explosion at the Engen oil refinery in the Merebank area, south of Durban.

This morning residents in the south of Durban were shaken by what they thought was an earthquake.

It turned out it to be an explosion that took place at the Engen oil refinery.
