President Cyril Ramaphosa made the announcement during last night's address to the country, amid speculation of a second lockdown, where he also raised concerns about the Sarah Baartman District municipality also in the Eastern Cape and the Western Cape's Garden Route.

"Hospital admissions in these districts are on the rise, in some instances comparable to those during the first wave of infections. In the Eastern Cape and Western Cape there has been an increase in both reported COVID-19 deaths and excess deaths," he said.

"This must be a concern for every one of us."

This now means stricter measures the for Nelson Mandela Bay.
