How often do you hear couples referring to their significant others by name?

It doesn't really happen, because couples usually have nicknames or pet names they give one another.
Sometimes these names have an origin story and a reason why they've been chosen.
But it can also be something completely generic, like baby, gorgeous, honey, or sexy.
