There are too many horrific, hilarious, and haunting Halloween movies out there, so we thought we would help you choose the best ones to watch this weekend.

1. The Cult Classic: The Shining

The movie adaption of this Stephen King novel is definitely not for the faint of heart but will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

It's an absolute iconic classic scary movie for a reason!

Synopsis: Writer Jack Torrance takes on a job as a caretaker for an isolated Colorado hotel, in the hopes of overcoming his writer's block. But Jack becomes more and more influenced by the strange surroundings and ultimately falls deep into madness.

2. A Family Favourite: Hotel Transylvania 

No matter how old you are, this feel-good movie is set to put you in a happier Halloween mood.

And if you can't get enough of just one, be sure to watch the second and third as well.

Synopsis: A vampire father tries to protect his teenage daughter and attempts to foil a young human boys plans and ultimately stop them from falling in love.

3. New Age Horror: Get Out

This movie made headlines upon it's release as has been dubbed as one of the best horror movies to be released in decades.

But it's definitely not like your average slasher, scary movie.

Synopsis: Chris, an African-American man, decides to visit his Caucasian girlfriend's parents during a weekend getaway. Although they seem normal at first, he is not prepared to experience the horrors ahead.

4. A Netflix Original: The Perfection

Basically like 'Black Swan' but instead of ballet, it's about music.

Synopsis: A troubled musical prodigy and a new star pupil embark down a sinister path.

5. The 2020 release: The Invisible Man

With a Rotten Tomatoes score of 91%, this new release is close to perfection.

Synopsis: After staging his own suicide, a crazed scientist uses his power to become invisible to stalk and terrorize his ex-girlfriend. When the police refuse to believe her story, she decides to take matters into her own hands and fight back.
