Watch: Shark caught in Durban

Instead of sardines or any other fish, this Scottburgh fisherman got more than he bargained for with a shark catch.

What should have been a regular fishing day turned into the larger-than-life catch of a shark.

In a bid to get the hook out of the shark, the fisherman and others around him pulled the shark out of the water, removed the hook, and released the big beast back into the ocean.
According to a Times Live interview with the Natal Sharks Board, sharks are in the area due to the sardine run, and to reduce the risk of them getting harmed by shark nets, the nets are removed between June and July.
