Glen Anil residents tackle illegal dumping and alleged criminal activity
Residents take a stand against those who are doing illegal activity.
There is a park that is situated at the corner of Glen Anil Street and Plane Street which has seen an increase in illegal dumping in the last few years.
The rubbish bags that have been illegally dumped at a park in Glen Anil were collected by residents and workers on Saturday. Residents in the area now plan to apply to eThekwini Municipality to adopt the spot and fence off the area.

This will allow them to stop the activities, which residents say show a total disregard for the community of Glen Anil at large.

Resident Avi Pillay revealed that they have formed a community group. The group is called Glen Anil Precinct, and its main function is to help clean up the area, as well as report any criminal activity happening in the area.
We want to look after the area and our green spaces so that our community can enjoy them and feel safe in them.
Another Glen Anil resident, Nathanael Naicker, said the sheer amount of items being dumped is a clear suggestion that companies were also involved in illegal dumping.
