Is this nanny horror story a hoax?

Louisa Melcher is known for her elaborate storytelling, but these stories are questionable at the very least, as they stem from the world of 'make believe.

Many social media users say they've ditched TV dramas because social media is easily accessible and brings them all the tea.

While we can admit that we live in a content-driven world, it is also important to note that not everything we see online is always true.

We recently came across an example of this, and were surprised to learn that the story was rooted in humour and crafted to showcase a woman's storytelling talent.

Comedians and content creators will tell you, the only way to capture your audience is with a strong hook. For writers, it's called a narrative hook, which captures your audience at the beginning of a story and makes them want to continue reading until the end.

Louisa Melcher is known for her extraordinary storytelling, often crafting tales that appear grounded unreality, yet are far from it. She calls this 'rage bait' and seems proud of the creativity and skill she puts into her stories.

In a recent video, she discusses being fired from her job as a nanny. At first, the lead-up to being dismissed sounded routine - until things took a turn. She was trying to work with the kids, but crossed a line that couldn't be undone.

Watch the video from Instagram below.

It was interesting to see how people interacted with her storytelling skills; many believed her story and commented lightheartedly.

  • "I bet that old man was giggling from the other side. Just having a good time with the grands."
  • "Mom’s fault for calling it 'pixie dust'."
  • "Well, grandad got to play with grandchildren one last time."
  • "A testament to why you shouldn’t lie to your children. Also, that’s sweet. Her Father’s ashes were spread over his grandchildren."
  • "Grandpa’s probably chuckling it up in the great beyond."
