If there is one topic that all Durbanites can get on the same page about it is the monkeys.

Our primate neighbours have become a bit more feisty as of late and that has a lot to do with the number of developments that have been popping up.

If there's anything we know about the monkeys in KZN or anywhere in the world for that matter, it is never to feed them or taunt them.

It seems the monkeys in KZN, in particular, have become more feisty.

In a video posted on Instagram, we see monkeys sitting very patiently at the kitchen windows of a Durbanite's home, where previously we would find them hovering in the distance spectating and waiting patiently for the perfect opportunity to pounce...

Nowadays, they are getting closer and closer to people's homes, sometimes even waking them up for breakfast.

One of the comments that shocked us the most on this monkey spectator video was: "Those things came into my house and stole my birthday cake. Ever since I've left bread smothered in hot sauce by the window. Haven't bothered me since" (Instagram)
