Third arrest made following murder of Chatsworth pensioner

As two men appeared in court today for the murder of a Chatsworth pensioner - police say they've made a third arrest.

Seventy-two-year-old Jinsee Hairam was strangled to death in her Kharwastan home on Tuesday during a robbery.
Her daughter was hurt in the attack.

Police arrested the first suspect in Greyville the day after the attack. A second man was caught yesterday in Ndwedwe.
Police spokesperson, Jay Naicker they found the third in another province today.
"The third man was arrested in Matatiele in the Eastern Cape. The 28-year-old is the third accused to be arrested. He will appear at the Chatsworth Magistrate's Court on Monday."

NPA spokesperson, Natasha Kara says the first two accused appeared in the local court today.
They are 40-year-old Thiwe Cele and 42-year-old Bheki Msomi.
It's understood one of the men had previously been employed by Hairam.
"The matter was remanded to the 27 February for bail application. They face charges of murder and robbery."
