Updated | By ECR Newswatch
KZN Premier Willies Mchunu has revealed the commission of inquiry tasked with investigating politically related murders in the province.
In September, the KZN's Legislature's Executive Council put its stamp of approval on the establishment of the commission.
The team will be looking into the deaths of 20 people from the ANC, NFP, IFP and SACP.- 12 of whom are from the ruling party.
All killings took place leading up to August 9 local government elections.

Speaking at a press briefing yesterday, Mchunu said the officials chosen to lead the inquiry were picked because of their knowledge of the law, political science, criminology, sociology and economics - among other things.
He added that advocate MTK Moerane has been appointed as chairperson of the inquiry.
The commission's main purpose will be to identify the underlying causes of the killings.
Political killings have been prevalent in the province since 2011.
