Springfield heist suspects due in court tomorrow after delays

The first court appearance of two men arrested in connection with the cash-in-transit heist in Durban this week has been delayed.

The men were expected to line-up in the Durban Magistrate's Court today.

It's believed to have been part of a gang that tried to rob security guards of cash boxes in Springfield on Monday.

Police say the appearance has been delayed due to minor issues in terms of their investigation. 

The men face charges of attempted murder, robbery and hijacking

Previous charges against the suspects will be investigated separately after details emerged that one of the vehicles used in the heist was hijacked in Sydenham last week. 

Officers shot six suspects dead in two gun battles - the first in Springfield and the second in Parlock, north of the city. 

A bystander caught in the crossfire has also died

. One suspect remains on the run. The two arrested suspects are now due in court tomorrow.
