South Africa's depression linked to unemployment crisis - Vavi
The South African Federation of Trade Unions' (Saftu) Zwelinzima Vavi says unemployment's one of the main contributors to depression in the country.
Vavi addressed union members in Pretoria on Wednesday during their national shutdown march.
"This is why we are here, comrades. We are the second most-depressed nation in the world after Russia. The source of that depression in our country is the crisis of unemployment."

Thousands of people took to the streets across the country, calling for government to address the economic and energy crises.
Minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele acknowledged these challenges as he received the memorandum from marchers in Pretoria.

"Our ability to deliver to that memorandum is not going to be based on any promise that we have made. it is doing to be based on programmes we make and the outcome that come out of those programmes."
