Cosatu, Saftu expect thousands to join shutdown

Trade union federations Cosatu and Saftu say thousands of
people have pledged to stay away from work on Wednesday in support of the
national shutdown.

The two federations have added that members, and those not affiliated to them, will heed the call to down tools in protest against the high cost of living.
Marches are being held nationwide on Wednesday.

In Durban, demonstrators will make their way to City Hall.
There won't be disruptions to taxi services.
Meanwhile, government's reminded essential service workers that they cannot join the industrial action.
Public Service and Administration's issued a statement to say that the ‘no work no pay’ rule will apply to public servants downing tools.
