The ANC's candidate for KwaZulu-Natal premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube says she is committed to tackling crippling issues in the province.

She will replace Sihle Zikalala, who resigned last week.
"I also wish to thank the trust that ANC has given to me to be able to lead a collective in government."
Dube-Ncube is on course to become KZN's first female premier, as the country gears up to celebrate Women's Day on Tuesday.
ANC provincial secretary Bhekinkosi Mtolo says the party has made strides in putting women in top positions.
"We have to fight patriarchy which perpetuates the stereotype that women are powerless and we have to survive dependently on men. We are a generation that aims to secure equal rights for women and remove gender discrimination."

"We are promoting full equality. This is a very crucial day for the ANC as we are making history by introducing officially and announcing the first woman premier-elect to the people of KwaZulu-Natal."
