Former
eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede says the decision on whether she will stand for
re-election for the position of ANC eThekwini chairperson depends on how much
support she receives.

Gumede says she is waiting for a directive from party branches.
The region is set to elect its new leadership next month.

This after the region Gumede had chaired was disbanded.
She says she will only decide whether to throw her hat in the ring if or when ANC branches nominate her.
“You do not pre-empt such issues because it is according to the branches. The branches must first say whether they want to elect you,” said Gumede.
“You can’t project yourself.”
“I am waiting for the branches to ask me. Once they ask me, then I can decide.”
