The matter is related to a multi-million rand contract for the accommodation of police officers during the World Cup.

It's alleged the tender system in KZN SAPS was manipulated to favour Panday. It's claimed Madhoe helped with the manipulation and was paid R80 000.

Panday is also facing charges of defeating the ends of justice for allegedly trying to stop the investigation by bribing officials.

He apparently tried to bribe former KZN Hawks boss, Johan Booysen R2 million to drop his probe into the alleged corruption.

Over the years – it’s also been alleged that Panday and former KZN Police Commissioner, Mmamonnye Ngobeni had a corrupt relationship.
