What Did I Miss? Drake announces new single
Drake just released the lead song for his upcoming album, 'Iceman'.
Drake is ready to reclaim his rap throne after taking a major 'L' in 2024 courtesy of Kendrick Lamar.
Champain Papi, as he is also known, debuted his new song, 'What Did I Miss?', a few days ago.
Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, is listed as the sole writer of the track. London Cyr, O Lil Angel, DJ LEWIS, FNZ, Elyas, GYZ, Tay Keith, Patron and OZ produced the song.
The rapper takes a shot at friends who betrayed his loyalty, presumably during his rap battle with Lamar.
"How can some people I love hang around p*****s who try me?"
Drake apparently wasn't surprised by the betrayal.
"I don't give a f**k if you love me, I don't give a f**k if you like me/Askin' me, 'How did it feel?' Can't say it didn't surprise me / Last time I looked to my right, you n----s was standing beside me."
'Not Like Us' was the rap song of 2024, soaring to No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and going on to win five Grammys, including 'Best Music Video'.
Drake sued Universal Music Group for defamation over the song, taking issue to the fact that Lamar called him a 'certified pedophile' in the diss track.
The 'Certified Loverboy' hitmaker accused Universal of prioritising “corporate greed over the safety and well-being of its artists”.
'What Did I Miss?' is the lead single from Drake's new album, 'Iceman'.
The album, which is Drake's ninth as a solo artist, does not have a release date, but he has indicated that it is coming soon.
Fans are already feeling his new music.
"Drake had no business going this hard. Bro can't fall off," one YouTuber said.
Another commented: "16 years … he's been giving us hits for 16 years. I was 12 when he gave the world his first hit. Drake makes me proud man."
