'Girl bye': Nicki Minaj slams SZA in epic Twitter (X) rant

Nicki Minaj and SZA's beef started with a tweet about the Mercury retrograde, which hasn't even started.

Nicki Minaj is letting her 'Twitter fingers' do the talking.

The rapper lashed out at SZA on X (formerly Twitter), resulting in several tweets that left people clutching their pearls.

It all began with a tweet about the Mercury retrograde—the illusion in the sky that makes the planet, which is the closest to the sun, look like it is moving backwards.

The Mercury retrograde is supposed to cause misfortune in your life, and the astrology girls are obsessed with it.

SZA decided to share a tweet about the retrograde, and all hell broke loose.

"Mercury retrograde .. don’t take the bait lol silly goose," the 'Snooze' hitmaker wrote.

The post appeared fairly innocent to the untrained eye. The untrained in celebrity drama.

SZA shared her tweet shortly after Minaj took a swipe at rapper Terrence 'Punch' Henderson.

"Ya'll remember that man from TDE who kept bullying me on Twitter for no reason? We have the receipts. lol. I never even responded to him. What was his name again, y'all? I'm going to give him a nickname. Ima call him ‘Minus 30 million’ from now on. #JusticeForDemoree," she wrote.

SZA is signed to Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE), where Punch is president. He also used to manage the singer.

Minaj's fans, therefore, thought that SZA's tweet was about her. SZA tried to explain that her post had nothing to do with Minaj's rant, but her words fell on deaf ears.

"I wasn’t even talking about or to anyone, I had just got off stage talking bout retrograde," she tweeted.

Enter the dragon, aka Nicki Minaj.

The 'Super Bass' hitmaker unleashed her wrath on SZA. She did not hold back, and most of her tweets are not PG-friendly.

"Wait. Does Sza think she’s more successful than me? Lol ya'll catch me up pls. Sza, if every song you’ve ever done vanished right now, the music business wouldn’t even miss you. I’ve been to countries that never heard of you," Minaj wrote.

"What have you ever done besides yodel with auto tune that needed retuning? Boo, I'm an icon. You’re not. The end."

It was not the end. Not as far as Minaj's tweets anyway.

The rapper slammed SZA for releasing 'SOS Deluxe: LANA' two years after her 'SOS' album came out.

"B***h put out a whole new album as a deluxe to an already existing album that was out for like a year or 2, so the original album could break records. Like what in the insecure lack of morals & integrity you doing? I thought she was like a real artist? Girl bye."

As if that wasn't bad enough, Minaj's tweeting spree included a brush with the past.

She shared an old post SZA allegedly made in 2011 criticising Rihanna and Ciara's vocals. The singers were involved in an online beef of their own at the time.

"I don't get it. Neither @rihanna, and Ciara can hold a note worth a damn... One's just than the other. So what's the beef?" SZA allegedly wrote on 26 February 2011.

Ouch!

"Go draw your freckles back on bookie. Liar, liar pants on fire. Sounding like a f*ng dead dog," Minaj told SZA in her 100th post.

All this drama, and Mercury is not even in retrograde at the moment.
