Inside Viola Davis' Cape Town birthday celebration
'The Woman King' actress celebrated her birthday in the 'Mother City' with lots and lots of cake!
Academy Award-winning actress Viola Davis celebrated another trip around the sun in one of the best holiday destinations in the world - Cape Town.
Viola turned 58 years old a few days ago and was showered with lots of love and lots of birthday cake.
She received three beautiful cakes - one with chocolate icing and macarons, one vanilla cake with strawberries, and one decorated with white roses.

Staff at the One&Only Hotel in Cape Town also treated Viola to a birthday cupcake and a cookie shaped like the continent of Africa.
Viola was grateful to be a year older and to all the people who showed her love on her birthday.
"Another year...full of revelations, joy, loss, triumphs....and another year to wake up and be grateful for it all! Thank you 58!! Thank you all for the birthday love. Enkosi!" she wrote on Instagram.

It's not the first time Viola Davis has been to Cape Town. Her critically acclaimed film, 'The Woman King', was filmed in South Africa.
The film stars Pietermaritzburg-born actress Thuso Mbedu.

Viola and Thuso have become close friends over the years, with the pair even leaving sweet comments on each other's Instagram posts.
Thuso dedicated a special post to Viola in February after she won a Grammy for the audio version of her book, 'Finding Me: A Memoir'.
"You BEEN a [goat emoji]. Glad to see that they’ve finally caught up. CONGRATULATIONS @violadavis for your Grammy win #EGOT. We love you because you are who you are. We are so proud of you. You’re one of the hardest working people we know. Thank you for sharing you with us. Thank you to Julius and Genesis for holding you down as they do," the 32-year-old wrote.
Julius is Viola's husband of 20 years. The couple has a 13-year-old daughter named Genesis.
"Love love you sweet Thuso," Viola responded to Thuso's post.
