Vic Naidoo has always been an advocate for mental health. This year he opened up more about his mental health and how sometimes taking things day by day is okay.

We tend to put so much pressure on ourselves instead of being our biggest cheerleaders.

Vic Naidoo wanted to make sure that people took time out to be more mindful this holiday of their mental health, not to mention other people's mental health.

Vic says that he has decided to come from a personal perspective this year. He feels like being more introspective can never do any harm when you decide to focus on yourself and go inward for a little bit.

It is inevitable to get to a place in your life when you begin to notice certain patterns, cycles or loops in your life that you have been making and these are not necessarily good for you.

Vic says that being kind to yourself is integral and that perhaps these patterns stem from something deeper. He puts a high value on trying to heal yourself by looking inwardly and also focusing on past traumas.

He goes on to say that whatever the issues you are experiencing, whether they come from work, family, lovers, etc, it is important to note that you are going to be okay and it's okay to seek help.

The first step is self-awareness. Once you achieve awareness, you can now seek help and set out how to get better. It was humbling to hear him say that he is still trying to figure out the tools to manage himself but self-awareness has helped him a lot.

He feels like practising gratitude is the key to everything.

His message to KZN is to start 2024 off on a note of gratitude. He says recognising your blessings should be a big part of your 2024.

By being grateful and being more aware of your blessings, you will inevitably attract more blessings into your life. Examine your mindset, look at how you interact with people, always try to come from a place of love, peace and joy.
