Always read the label! Mom mistakes shower gel for olive oil

Yikes! That's a soapy dish right there...

Cooking is something that is meant to be stress-relieving.

It can be calming and is a passion shared by many. But that's only if you read all the labels properly before adding things to your dish.

A daughter recently revealed that her mother made a manic mistake while preparing her Tuscan Chicken recipe.

Her mother purchased a new bottle of Olive Oil online and used it while cooking her Tuscan Chicken.

From the looks of it, the chicken looked delicious. But sadly, it did not taste as good as it looked.

It seems mom didn't read the label properly before using it and things took a turn for the worse.

"The chicken tastes like straight-up soap."

Shower gel! She used olive oil shower gel, not olive oil...

We're not sure how she didn't pick up on the scent or the consistency, which we assume is different to olive oil but she did.

In her defence, it was not immediately legible to see 'shower gel' on the bottle.

Check out some of the comments, it seems another person made the same mistake.

  • "I did the exact same thing. Many years ago cooking a Tuscan chicken dinner for a large family group only to find out that the olive oil was soap!!! You’re my twin flame!"
  • "Mom likes to eat clean" - this was a comment from Door Dash.
  • "In this economy I’m still eating it."
  • "even when you zoomed in I couldn’t tell what it was until you said something! it looked like a foreign language"
