WATCH: Alleged armed robbery at Overport’s Atrium Mall
There were allegedly six armed suspects in the store.
A video depicting a robbery at a Durban mall is doing the rounds on social media.
The clip, which was recorded from a distance, is zoomed into the incident at Ackermans.
ECR reached out to the mall for comment and they confirmed that the incident did occur a few days ago.
According to dRK Tactical Control Centre, they received a number of notifications about an armed robbery at Ackermans in the Overport area.
“Once dRK Tactical Armed Reaction officers arrived they found that multiple suspects had already fed the scene,” they said.

The crime prevention company stated that six armed men were alleged to have entered the store.
“Two of which were posing as security officers and proceeded to rob the employees of personal belongings and an undisclosed amount of cash,” said dRK Tactical Control Centre.
The suspects then fled in multiple vehicles. Fortunately, no employees or customers were injured in the robbery.
