Earlier this week, we celebrated International Mother Language Day by getting the kids of KZN to send in voice notes.

Aunty Stacey and Uncle J Sbu were in for a day filled with cuteness as we heard isiZulu, Afrikaans, Tamil, and much more.

A few of the adorable little ones took time out to let us know what languages they hope to learn one day.

You can listen to the podcast here:

The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) says the day has been observed throughout the world since the year 2000.

According to the United Nations, about 40% of the global population does not have access to an education in the language they speak/understand.

In a way to show their commitment towards understanding the importance of mother languages, UNESCO joined in on observing the day.
