WATCH: Local singer writes song about the struggles of being single in winter

Ever since the dawn of time, couples have been superior to the singles.

Or so we have been led to believe.

For some reason, being single is frowned upon and dating, getting married, and being with one person for the rest of your life is the endgame.

The single folk have been judged and pitied because apparently if you are alone, you are lonely and sad and you just wish you could be in a relationship.

While there should really be no issue with living your best single life, most of us can confirm that when the snow falls on the mountain peaks and the chilly winds start blowing up and down the KZN coast, curling up underneath your blanket alone just isn't the same as having a nice, warm arm of another keeping you cozy.

And this musician's song is spot on.

The unknown artist sings in Nothern Sotho and according to the lyrics, he is kind of calling out the viewer of the video.

He sings about the person watching this video and how they might be laughing along, but at the end of the day, they will be sleeping alone. He continues and says that this person will also sleep alone tomorrow.

And then he ends it with the startling revelation that he too sleeps alone during these cold nights.

It is also really important that we state that this is all just some light-hearted banter and should in no way be taken seriously.

While this may all be fun and games, we received a delightful shock when we first heard the artist perform. Although his lyrics are poking fun at being alone during the colder seasons, his voice has some great potential!

Either way, hopefully, it won't get too chilly tonight as you lay in your bed by yourself and if it does, it's never too late to call a cuddle buddy - but wear your mask and sanitise, please.
