Turns out the safest bet at a horse race might just be the ones you place on the actual horse racing.

Because, as we all know, one of the biggest gambles a person could take within their lifetime is planning on a proposal.

While outside elements could result in a disastrous moment, like a missing ring or unwelcome weather conditions, the biggest risk you're taking is finding out if you and your partner are on the same page at all. Or if they are going to reject you right there.

While at the races at Fairyhouse in Ireland, one man chose a very special moment to get down on one knee. But there were a few plot twists.

Television presenters Gary O'Brien and Lisa O'Neill were discussing the events of the day and the results of the races when two unknown men appeared behind them.

All of a sudden one of the men goes down on one knee and pulls the ring from his pocket.

What happens next will either have you crying tears of laughter or tears of sadness.

While the acting might have had us going for a second, it's clear to see that these two men were having a fun day at the races when they decided to take this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for what turned out to be a prank.

This story could have had a very different ending, but at the end of the day, it'll put a smile on your face... if you watch the whole video.
