As we get older, the desire or pressure to have children is bestowed upon us. With the rise of teen pregnancies and age gaps becoming the norm, there really is no "normal age" to have kids anymore.

Obviously ladies have a body clock advanced by methods such as IVF, surrogates, sperm donors, and the well-known adoption system, making having a child possible despite any challenges faced.

Everyone has their own opinions but some just stand out more than others..

Penny tweeted: "Some of you will be attending parent meetings in your 50s - shame." This really got the conversation started for us.'

Many people believe that your 20s are for studying and establishing yourself in your career and your mid 30s are for starting a family and settling down.

We took to Facebook to share Penny's opinion and hear what our audience thinks...

Several users have agreed that having children later in life is definitely something to be proud of as you are in a better position financially and emotionally to look after a child, and will not require any or as much assistance from others. Many who have kids in their 30s say they have absolutely no regrets. 

Other parents have also mentioned that it took them several attempts of various methods to fall pregnant and once the pressure was taken off as they got older, they were able to conceive naturally. 

Hearing these heart-warming stories from our listeners is truly inspiring. They did not let the age difference affect the relationship with their kids, but it rather improved it.

Everyone has their different opinion on the topic and each to their own, but sometimes it's no good to have a "Penny for your thoughts" putting pressure on you as you get older. 

Not having kids does not equal a life with no meaning and likewise having kids does not equal the only meaning. We hope you get what we mean.
