Throwback Thursday: Do you have a plastic cover on your couch?

To cover your couch or not to cover your couch…

Do you remember the days of visiting your grandparents and slipping and sliding as you try to relax on their couch? We sure do!

Back then, couch covers were a way to not only keep your belongings clean and tidy, but a way to preserve the beauty of a hard-earned purchase.

Those hard plastic covers that got in the way of many childhoods made it easier for our loved ones to clean up any unwanted spills before they become permanent stains.

Over time, however, the plastic trend began to fade as people started to prioritise comfort and aesthetics over protection.

Homeowners and decor enthusiasts have now found alternatives to ensure their spaces are comfortable and clean.

If you want to maintain the cleanliness of your couch, but a plastic cover is not for you, we’ve got your back!

Remodelista suggests the following:

1. Add something soft such as throw cushions or a comfy blanket.

2. Use a linen slipcover to cloak your entire couch.

3. Tuck a sheet of your choosing or a piece of large material on top of your couch to protect the material.
