Many of us have explored various remedies, however, there's a hidden gem in the realm of sleep aids that you might not have considered - lettuce water.

Believe it or not, lettuce water has been praised for its potential to induce relaxation and promote better sleep. The internet life-hackers have an unconventional solution for us.

Sleepopolis shares: "The idea of lettuce water-induced sleepiness originated on social media, but some research has been done on the possible sleep-promoting effects of certain lettuce components. One of these is called lactucarium, the milky white substance you can see at the base of certain types of lettuce stems. "

While the internet is in a frenzy over this sleep remedy, one doctor has taken to TikTok to say that he tried it out and it worked, dubbing it "no cap".

So is social media right? Does lettuce water actually work? Currently, there is little evidence behind this theory but people claim it works.

Here's how to make lettuce water:

  1. Boil the lettuce leaves of your choice and strain the solids, then sip the remaining liquid warm before bedtime.
  2. Place lettuce leaves in a mug and pour boiling water over them, allowing them to steep for 5-10 minutes, similar to making hot tea. Remove the lettuce and drink the liquid.
