Updated | By Stacey & J Sbu
South Africa's dashing officer, Devan Cox, is stirring trouble with viral uniform selfie...
Have you come across Devan Cox? Back in 2022, this police officer broke the internet when he was discovered for his dashing good looks.
When Devan Cox was first discovered, the internet spiralled and it happened again when the SAPS officer posted another picture of himself in his uniform. As you can imagine, social media users were beside themselves.

However, it appears that not all are flattered by his charms. According to reports, his superiors were not pleased with all the attention.
Cox was charged with violating the instructions stating that police officers may not publish photos of themselves in uniform, or carrying police weapons or logos, on their social media platforms. Cox, who is part of the SA Police Service (SAPS) Flying Squad, was summoned to a disciplinary hearing after he violated national SAPS instructions by representing the police on his social media platforms.- News24
Below is the mirror selfie that sparked this controversy.
The caption read: "Same game different level". As shared by Jacaranda FM, "after this post, the verdict was unanimous; everyone wanted to be arrested by him."
Take a look at some of the comments shared by online users:
- "Ooooh what a hot cop. I [have] been bad arrest meeee"
- "All I'm saying is I drove 120km/h in a 60 zone"
- "What law must I break so that they send you to arrest me sir?"
- "You can arrest me anytime"
- "Please arrest me. I am a criminal"
- "I want to turn myself in"
Here is the verdict on this hot cop matter:
As per Colonel Priscilla Naidu, the police spokesperson, the hearing has been completed. Nevertheless, she refrained from revealing its outcome, stating that "it remains a matter between the employer and the employee".
In addition to this, Naidu shares: “No member may display a profile photo of themselves in uniform, any police weapons, logos or an avatar on their private social media."

After some super stalking (as we are sure most of the net is doing right now), it appears that Devan currently resides in East London in the Eastern Cape.
