In this cold weather, nothing beats wine, popcorn, a thick warm blanket, and to bring it all together, some pizza!

Two Swedish prisoners in a high-security prison held two guards hostage for nine hours on Wednesday and eventually released their captives after a request for pizza was answered, reported Swedish daily newspaper Aftonbladet. Just that - pizza!

They used razor blades as weapons and locked themselves in with the two guards.

These two prisoners - 24-year-old Haned Mahamed Abdullahi and 30-year-old Isak Dewit - are both serving sentences for murder at this high-security prison.

According to Euronews, the hostage drama unfolded at midday Swedish local time when the two inmates managed to break into the guard room.

Once the rest of the prison was aware, they alerted special unit forces.

If all conflicts could be resolved so easily, then we would definitely have less drama in this world. You won't believe what they demanded after their initial helicopter demand.

A mediator joined and the prisoners later negotiated down to pizzas for themselves and other inmates.

Did they actually get the pizzas? Were they delivered?

Well, according to AFP,  the pizzas were delivered to the inmates at 16:30. By 21:30, they had released both guards, bringing a close to the nine-hour hostage drama.

They also further shared that the spokesman for the prison, Stina Lyles, confirmed that the guards were not hurt and returned safely to their family.

Who would have thought? Pizza?
