Postcard arrives in mailbox 100 years later

The Halloween postcard seems to have arrived just in time for Halloween... only 100 years late.

Postcard 100 years old

Imagine going through your mail and amid your regular bills and junk mail you come across a postcard that had been mailed almost 100 years ago. Crazy, right?

This was the case for a Michigan woman who got the surprise of her life when she found a postcard dated 1920.

At first, Brittany Keech did not pay attention to the card, but later took a look when she remembered that postcards are now obsolete.

"I thought it was very peculiar that I was receiving a postcard because nobody sends postcards anymore nowadays. I went 'OK, this is different,'" she told CNN.

The postcard, which was addressed to someone by the name of Roy McQueen for Halloween, includes a black cat holding a broom, a goose, a bat and an owl, along with a woman with a cane and a jack-o'-lantern in a witch's hat.

The card reads:

"Dear Cousins,

Hope this will find you all well. We are quite well but mother has awful lame knees. It is awful cold here. I just finished my history lesson and am going to bed pretty soon. My father is shaving and my mother is telling me your address. I will have to close for a night. Hope grandma and grandpa are well. Don't forget to write us - Roy get his pants fixed yet."

It was signed by Flossie Burgess.

Keech is hoping to find the sender’s relatives, or anyone who might have known the family.
