We would like to say that things like harassment and sexual misconduct no longer exist, but it is as real as ever. It has been a topic that is overlooked a lot because it makes people uncomfortable, but the thing is we believe that talking about things that make us uncomfortable is a sign of growth and maturity.

And in speaking about it, it helps us to move forward as a community. Addressing these kinds of situations is uncomfortable at times because of ego and feelings, and the gender equality factor. But if as an institution you have included it in your policy, then it helps both you and your patrons.

We are not sure if in this particular situation, the gym had this in place, but what we do know is that this woman decided to use her TikTok page to teach this man a lesson.

After admitting that this man had been harassing her for months whilst at the gym, she decided to take things into her own hands and do something about it. She had her phone camera on and was videoing herself during a workout, and, of course, he approached her.

What happened next isn't what he expected, but his actions showed that he needed to be taught a lesson. It is not acceptable to assume that someone is open to your suggestions when they don't reciprocate it.

As the saying goes, "No is No!", and that stands for both males and females. Check out the video below, courtesy of TikTok

Chelsie Gleason, the woman in the video, generally posts videos of herself working out. But by no means is it acceptable to assume that she is asking for any sort of attention from anyone.

"Several viewers applauded Gleason for standing up for herself, while others expressed disgust that she faced harassment while working out at a gym in sweatpants. One viewer said that they would have thrown the weights at him in defense." (Daily Dot)

No matter how much you like someone or are attracted to them, it is never okay to harass them. Sometimes, people aren't playing hard to get, they are just not interested.
