Students get creative with "anything but a school bag day"

Anything but a school bag day is a great way for students to think outside the box.

It might seem over-the-top initially, but those quirky school activities you question as a parent often help kids grow wonderfully unexpectedly.

The schools that have made "anything but a school bag" a part of their curriculum show learners engaging in an activity that approaches the idea of thinking outside the box in a new and fun way.

The results? Pure joy and imagination. From TV boxes and baby strollers to shopping baskets, pet carriers, laundry bins and even wheelbarrows – learners show up proudly wheeling, carrying, or pushing their inventive alternatives.

Watch as learners show off their most outrageous (and impressively creative) alternatives to school bags in this fun video.

Please note: While we’re celebrating their out-of-the-box thinking, we do not endorse or encourage any unsafe behaviour shown in the clip.

Social media users were impressed by the students’ over-the-top creativity, especially the learners who arrived with a microwave and an air fryer, earning plenty of praise in the comments.

One person wrote, "I realised this was my High school over 10 years ago. We had such strict rules, I’m curious what allowed this level of fun to happen."

Another person replied, "Right, we were denied fun as millennials. Now millennials are teachers, that's why."

While it might seem excessive to some, this lighthearted activity is a brilliant way to spark creativity and build a sense of camaraderie among students.
