There has been a lot on social media recently highlighting the negative side of teaching abroad.

Many teachers have spoken out about their negative experiences working abroad and are even seeking help from International Relations.

And as much as we feel for them, going to work abroad is not for the faint-hearted. It can be quite an overwhelming experience leaving home to go live and work in a foreign country.

This is why it is so important to consider this decision seriously before uprooting your life and going abroad.

We wanted to show a positive side to working abroad and came across Chanelle, a Cape Town girl teaching in Shanghai, China.

Chanelle helps people with information on how to find employment in Asia teaching English.

From what we gather, she didn't set out to do this, but has become somewhat of an advisor to many people who have come across her content.

She went on to create another video sharing the cost involved in starting your journey teaching abroad.

We love that she is honest and open about the steps and costs involved. So many South Africans get duped by the dream and sometimes get carried away by scammers.

Chanelle also talks about things such as taking your family with you, your requirements in terms of applying abroad, etc.

She is happy teaching abroad and has created a nice life for herself.
