We love random acts of kindness, more than anything to see the surprise and delight on someone's face when they receive something that they were not expecting. It is both inspiring and fulfilling in so many ways...

When we hear about a random act of kindness from the receiving person, it is even more exciting because it somehow completes the cycle of kindness. By sharing their experience, it inspires someone else out there to pass it on or pay it forward.

A woman by the name of Kutty Chabangu shared a story on behalf of her sister on a Facebook group called, 'I'm Staying', that is known for sharing uplifting and positive stories in South Africa.

She shared that her sister decided to go do some shopping after work at Pick n Pay River Crescent in Witbank. She sure didn't realise that what seemed to be a normal shopping trip would turn into one of those moments that truly impact you as a person.

In case the above image is difficult to read, this is what Kutty Chabangu said in her post:

My sister asked me to post on her behalf. Today around 2 pm after work she went to do groceries at Pick n Pay River Crescent in Witbank. When she arrived at the till both her cards gave her a problem. When she was about to make a call about the cards the cashier alerted her of someone talking behind her.

When she turned there was a gentleman and he said he'd pay for the groceries. My sister got shocked and asked the guy if he can see if it's R1000 not R100. The gentleman said 'I will pay for it'.

My sister was so shocked and she couldn't believe it. Upon asking the guy about #ImStaying the guy didn't know about the group. He said his name was Willhem or Vellhem (sorry not sure about the spelling). I just want to say thank you to this gentleman, it is people like him that make this country a wonderful place to live in. May God bless him abundantly...and for that #ImStaying(Facebook)

It's stories like this that really make us sit up and notice that our country is full of good, and if we all share more of these kinds of stories, then we will be able to get out of the slumps of negativity.

We can make our country a better place and the first step is saying 'thank you' to Wilhem (we apologise if that's not how it is spelt) for being such a kind human and helping this woman out in her time of need.
