Watching cute animal videos is just as uplifting as watching cute baby videos - it gets us feeling lighthearted and in a way it takes our minds away from all the stresses that life poses.

We can't say that the effects are permanent, but with the plethora of cute animal videos on the internet, you can get your fix at any time, on any platform, and you are guaranteed entertainment.

We found a duck that has been making a name for herself on TikTok and we thought it would be great to get a quacking start to the week...

Krissy Ellis, a 20-year-old from a small town in the US, has been raising ducks since she was just five years old, but got Munchkin when she was a teenager.

She and Munchkin are internet sensations and have around 2.8-million followers on TikTok and around 254,000 followers on Instagram. Krissy named their accounts, Dunkin Ducks, which was inspired by their small town's main fast food outlet, Dunkin Donuts.

Munchkin's story is extremely endearing. Her offspring, Dunkin, hatched in July 2020 and Munchkin was so excited that when the egg cracked open, she snapped off the top herself in excitement. Not long after her birth, Dunkin's best friend and sibling hatched, Donut.

The popularity of these videos obviously speak for themselves with the avid following on her social media accounts. But more than that, this way of life for Krissy has allowed her to merge her passion for raising ducks and creating content with them, to actually earning some moola doing it.

"In an interview with Dexerto, Ellis revealed that she makes more money in about half an hour of filming, editing and posting her content than she was able to make working over 40 hours a week at a grocery store. She revealed that in a month she can make roughly R63 000 thanks to social media and a myriad of other exciting brand deals and sponsorship arrangements. This equates to more than R 760 000 each year, an incredibly impressive feat for someone who was initially bullied at school for her videos," MSN reports.

Krissy shared some advice, saying that anyone who is receiving online hate should stand tall and persevere, as you never know where it may lead you.
