Woman shot, wounded on N2 near Chesterville

A woman has been admitted to hospital after she was shot and wounded on the N2 near Chesterville in Durban.
Medi-Response spokesperson Paul Herbst says the woman was alone in her car on Monday night when she hit some rocks placed on the highway.

She was attacked by two suspects after stopping the car.
"She stopped to assess the situation when two persons approached her car, opening fire on her. She was struck by a bullet, on her leg.
“An off-duty Fidelity Security Manager arrived on scene and intervened, managing to detain one suspect."

"He proceeded to render first aid to the victim and awaited Medi Response advanced life support paramedics, who assumed care of the patient."
