Man killed in single vehicle crash on N2

A man in his 40s has lost his life in a horrific crash on the N2 near a cement factory, NPC, on Tuesday morning.
His car overturned before coming to a stop on the median barrier.
It's not clear what caused the collision.
Medics say the Jaws of Life were used to cut him free from the wreckage of his vehicle.

Spokesperson for ALS Paramedics Garrith Jamieson says he was badly hurt.
"The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was found severely entrapped with critical injuries whilst Advanced Life Support paramedics worked to stabilise the man in the vehicle, the Durban Fire Department used the jaws of life and other hydrologic equipment to try and free the man.
"Unfortunately, due to the major injuries, the man had sustained the patient went into a state of cardiac arrest. Despite advanced life support resuscitation, the patient passed away on the scene."
