Two KZN councillors gunned down in a week

The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs officials say they're mourning the assassination of a second KZN councillor in the space of a week.

eThekwini's Mnqobi Molefe was gunned down in Margate on Sunday night.
Last Thursday, two councillors in the Msinga Local Municipality were attacked by gunmen while they were travelling in a vehicle.
Siyanda Magubane of Ward 11 succumbed to his injuries.
Cogta MEC Sihle Zikalala says these attacks should be viewed as crimes against the state.

eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda visited Molefe's family yesterday.
"We are also appealing to law enforcement agencies that the expedite the process of investigations because we will like to get to the bottom of this, what transpired and what happened and those who are responsible.
"They must be appended within a very short space of time."
The ANC in KZN says it's devastated by Molefe's murder.
