A woman found guilty of ordering a hit on her elderly employer has been sentenced to life imprisonment, along with her accomplice.

Officials say Lungile Qoza worked for Chatsworth resident Mohammed Salajee.
They say in June 2020, the 81-year-old Salajee left his home with R150 000 with which he wanted to pay for a property.

The National Prosecution Authority says Qoza knew about this and colluded with another woman, Ntombikayise Khambule, to rob him.
They hired a hitman.
KZN NPA spokesperson Natasha Kara says Salajee was robbed of the money and put into the boot of his car.
The elderly man was then shot and killed.

"They were sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, 15 years imprisonment for robbery and five years imprisonment for kidnapping. They will serve an effective term of life imprisonment."
