Man accused of killing KZN matrics abandons bail bid

The man accused of hacking two matric girls to death in southern KwaZulu-Natal has abandoned his bid for bail.
Amanda Zulu and Minenhle Buthelezi, who were both 18, were living alone at an accommodation in Creighton that was near their school.
They were attacked with an axe over a week ago.

A suspect was arrested several hours later.
KZN NPA spokesperson Natasha Kara says the 21-year-old man was back in court on Thursday.

"The matter was set down for a bail application. In court today, the accused abandoned his application for bail. The matter was remanded to 27 September 2022 for further investigations."
