WATCH: Hundreds of South Coast protesters dispersed by police

A group of protesters that had gathered outside the South Coast Mall has been dispersed.
They have been venting their frustrations over Ugu's water woes.
Some residents have been without running water for weeks while for some, supply has been intermittent.
Yesterday, The Cooperative Governance MEC said a task team had been set up to deal with the crisis.
Employees at the mall said that about 10.30am today they got a notification on their phones that protestors were making their way towards the mall in Shelly Beach. They were asked to close shop and evacuate immediately.
It is understood that a group of about 100 or more protestors made their along the main road and police were deployed to the scene. Police managed to disperse the crowd and the mall has been reopened with a few shops operating.

Sources at the scenes revealed that some arrests were made. This is on the back of a night filled with protest.
In Izingolweni it is believed that police arrested 20 people for breaking in and looting shops.
