Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Police Minister Bheki Cele is visiting the Eshowe home where a family was massacred.

Six members of the Khumalo family were shot dead over the weekend.
Minister Cele first made a stop at the local police station, where he was briefed about the investigation.

Cele, accompanied by a convoy of police officers then travelled 5km on a dirt road to the Khumalo homestead where the murders took place on Saturday.

It’s alleged a male relative broke down the door of the home with an axe and ordered the family into a common room.
They were then shot and killed. The youngest victim was eight and the oldest 70.
Police arrested a suspect in Greytown on Monday.
Minister Cele is currently meeting with other members of the family inside the greenish-blue house. Other visibly emotional relatives are gathered around the home, along with neighbours, waiting for the minister to come out and speak to them.
