UniZulu campus remains closed following violent protest

The Student Representative Council at the University of Zululand says the issues that sparked violent protests at the north coast institution this week are being resolved.
A police car and a bookshop were reportedly torched at the KwaDlangezwa campus, south of Empangeni yesterday.
The campus has since shut its doors.

The SRC's Mduduzi Mnqayi says there was a 'misunderstanding' over the payment of meal and transport allowances.
Mnqayi says management is addressing their concerns.
UniZulu spokesperson, Sinegugu Ndlovu says the KwaDlangezwa campus has been closed indefinitely.
UniZulu released a statement yesterday instructing staff and students on the campus to vacate the premises. No students will be granted access until further notice.
Management says it is securing additional security and the assistance of police.
