UniZulu receives residential upgrades worth R70-million
Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
The University of Zululand has recently received two key infrastructure upgrades to the tune of R70-million.

The university's main KwaDlangezwa Campus now has a residential facility that houses about 300 students and the electricity substation was completely rebuilt. Gcina Nhleko, the University's Communications and Marketing Director says the new buildings are an investment for the next generation.
The University has been dealing with residential problems, more recently in 2016 - learning was disrupted when students refused to attend classes due to the lack of accommodation. Nhleko says even though the new buildings will only house less then 300 students, more efforts are being made towards providing safe residential places:
Hleko says the new construction was a multi-party project, adding that the rebuilding of the electricity substation was to help with the outages the university had been experiencing.
