CEO Dr Mafu Ramoketsi gave the exams the green light.

"The 12-year journey of constant hard work, endless projects, assessment tasks, homework and sleepless nights comes down to this moment."

Both public and independent schools are expected to begin their exams later this month.

"The 2022 NCS examinations will be administered as follows: DBE will start on the 25th of October 2022 up to the 6th of December 2022. IEB from the 20th of October up to the 29th of November," Ramoketsi said.

Ramoketsi said this year will be different as exams will be written under no Covid-19 restrictions.

"The year 2022 is dissimilar to the previous two years, namely 2020 and 2021, because it is the year in which the examinations, as has been the case with teaching and learning, are written under no restrictions associated with Covid-19 pandemic.”

"This means that this year, unlike in the past, no stranger has been put on the system owing to the measure of the June and November examinations and rescheduling of examinations as happened previously."
