Ugu working to restore water
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
The Ugu District Municipality says it is working around the clock to ensure residents and businesses still without water have their supply restored soon.

A number of areas on the south coast are still experiencing interruptions, which began three weeks ago.
At the time, Ugu claimed municipal workers, whom it said were striking illegally, deliberately shut down supply. The SA Municipal Workers Union denied this.
The municipality's Mondli Ngcobo says burst pipes are also making the problem worse.
"If there was a stoppage of water, when the pressure is coming back, you will find some of the pipes are bursting," said Ngcobo.
He says people have also been tampering with the system.
"It is very unfortunate. We are trying our best with the workers and plumbers on the ground to try and resolve the issues, but as we sort out a problem in Port Shepstone, five minutes later we hear of another problem in Ramsgate," he said.

Just over a week later, management and SAMWU agreed to work on resolving their dispute and the situation was expected to return to normal.
