Two more Mpox cases registered in KZN
Updated | By Mamelisa Ngcongo
Two more cases of Mpox have been confirmed in KwaZulu-Natal, bringing the total national number to four.

The Department of Health says the latest cases were reported at Durban's Addington Hospital and St Augustine Hospital.
It says the two had contact with a 39-year-old man who was admitted to Addington with the virus last week.
The department says this suggests local transmission and warns it could potentially lead to a larger outbreak in the province.

Spokesperson Foster Mohale has urged continued cooperation and transparency from the public to help authorities trace contacts.
"The department would like to applaud the patients whose honesty and courage during the investigation process, assisted officials to trace suspected cases who also tested positive.
"Thus, it is through transparency of both confirmed and suspected cases that the government can prevent further transmission and avoidable deaths."
