Two killed in Folweni crash

Two people have been killed in a single vehicle crash on the M35 near Folweni, south of Durban.

Emergency services were called to the scene this morning.

Life Response Ambulance Service's Leon Fourie says the vehicle overturned near the Boxer store.
Five people had been travelling in the vehicle.
"Two people were declared deceased at the scene and three others were taken to hospital for the further care they required," said Fourie.
"At this stage, it is unclear what caused the crash."
Fourie says police officers attended the scene and will be investigating further.

Meanwhile, a pedestrian was killed after being knocked over by a bakkie in a separate incident near Kloof last night.Meditech ER says the man, thought to have been in his early twenties, was struck in the vicinity of the Village Road on-ramp - heading towards Durban.
Spokesperson Derrick Banks says medics found him lying motionless in the right lane.

Banks says medics assessed him and found that he had sustained fatal injuries.The driver of the bakkie was not hurt.
