The UK government has issued an advisory warning travellers about the improvised devices. The advisory was posted on the UK government’s official website on Thursday night.

"We respect the decision taken by the UK to advise its citizens about the placing of these devices as per standard practice. We will work closely with the SA tourism office in the UK to assure operators there that our destination remains safe", he said.
In the meantime Tembe says they are joining the call for calm.
"We condemn the placing of these devices in public places and call for calm to allow for law enforcement agencies to deal with the problem. The law enforcement agencies have assured us that they are on top of the situation", Tembe said.
